Good points Shannon.

Getting stuck at the side of the road is bad enough when you're traveling with adults. Add kids to the mix and you've got a recipe for disaster!

Nice article and great tips. A family trip is a good bonding activity and it can give lasting memories.

I'd like to add something though. To dads: make sure the car is in tip-top shape. Check the tires, the spare, oil, gas etc. The vehicle should be road-worthy first and foremost.
